You may be on the hunt for the right recipes so you can bring the perfect dish for the patriotic parties. Fortunately, you can contribute something delicious to wow your friends and family.
Sweeten your holiday weekend with this red, white, and blue recipe for 4th of July sweetheart cupcakes.
To make these tasty treats, you will need:
- 1 18.25-ounce package of white cake mix
- 1 ¼ cups of water
- 1/3 cup of vegetable oil
- 3 egg whites
- 8 drops of red food coloring
- 2 drops of raspberry candy oil
- 8 drops of blue food coloring
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners in patriotic colors and patterns.
In a large mixing bowl, beat together the cake mix, vegetable oil, and egg whites. Start on a low speed for 30 seconds, then increase to medium for two minutes, or until the mixture is smooth. Fill the cupcake liners 1/3 of the way full with the white batter.
Divide the remaining batter in half. In half, stir the red food coloring and the raspberry oil. Pour this red batter into a zip-top bag and seal.
Add the blue food coloring to the other half of the batter and stir. Pour into another zip-top bag and seal.
Cut off a corner of the red batter, insert the open tip into the white batter in the cupcake liners, and squeeze in about 2 tablespoons of batter. Repeat this process, squeezing in the blue batter.
Bake the cupcakes until a toothpick comes out clean, about 14 minutes. Cool, then frost and enjoy!
