By focusing on eating these foods for an entire month, you can develop life-long habits that will allow for a healthier lifestyle. Healthy eating is simple once you make it a habit. After four weeks of eating healthier, your body and mind will be able to enjoy the benefits, making it easier for you to continue the habit.

It is important to note that you can get the most nutrition from food by eating it a certain way. While you may be inclined to assume that there is no difference in the nutrition content of your broccoli whether it is steamed, broiled, baked, charred, or eaten raw, there is a big difference. Many dietary trends state that you get the most out of your fruits and veggies by eating them raw, but this is not always the case. For example, eating carrots that have been cooked slightly allows for the nutrients to be consumed with ease.

Studies show that beets, garlic, and green beans are able to maintain their beneficial phytonutrients after most types of heated cooking methods, and carrots actually increased their antioxidant value. However, boiling many vegetables allows the nutrients to trickle into the water that is typically tossed out after cooking.

However, it is important that you do not spend your time analyzing the cooking methods of your foods, rather, start indulging on healthy and nutritious foods that make your body feel good. Indulge on colorful foods and your body will be thanking you for it!
