Joe Adamson was born in Sacramento and has lived all throughout the state, his family ultimately settled down in Napa Valley. Joe attended UC Davis and was a member of the Aggie Football team. Joe has worked in the insurance industry since 2004 with a focus on Personal Lines. Now, Joe resides in Granite Bay with his wife, Lisa, and his two daughters, Shelby and Brooke. Joe started at Purves & Associates in the Fall of 2018 and is responsible for partnering with our many referral sources to create a seamless quote-to-issue process for them and their clients. In the Fall of 2019, Joe, accepted an expanded roll to Personal Lines Manager, where Joe focuses on working with the Personal Line Team to cultivate and service new and existing clients in the greater Sacramento region and beyond.
In his free time, Joe enjoys spending time with his family, especially being a super fan of his daughters at soccer games and swim meets. You can be sure to see the family cheering on the Aggie Football Team in the Fall too.

Alicia is the newest Commercial Lines Account Manager to join Purves & Associates. Her background includes six years with a wholesale broker. She was introduced to the insurance industry at the young age of 22, just after the birth of her first son. She felt an immediate
professional connection from there and knew that she wanted to root herself and grow in the insurance field. She continued to build skills and experience to eventually take her Property and Casualty Exam to become a licensed insurance agent and passed with flying colors!
While she is not a Davis native like most here at Purves, she was born and raised in the Sacramento area, not too far from Purves homebase. When she is not doing what she loves for a living, she shares an incredible life with her husband of 10 years and their two beautiful children! When they aren’t home having family movie night or playing board games, they are camping and/or exploring — traveling to places fun and new!

I was born and raised in Placer county, living primarily in the Roseville area most of my life. I began my insurance career in 1997. Starting out in reception and moving up to account manager, sales, management and finally ending with an ownership interest in the same agency I worked so many years with.
In 2007, I moved up to Washington with my husband and two children, with my primary focus on raising my children, but still playing an active role in the family insurance agency. During this time, I found the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and became very active in CrossFit and running marathons.
In 2019, we moved back to California to be close to friends and family. In doing so, I was able to re-start my insurance career on a full-time basis. I have been married to my husband for over 20 years, am blessed with two wonderful teenagers along with two dogs that also consider themselves our children.
I currently enjoy working out and spending as much time with family and friends as possible.
George grew up in Hollister, California. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, received a Bachelor Degree in Economics at Chico State University, and did graduate studies of Economics at Fresno State. George began his insurance career with the Insurance Company of North America (INA) in their Marketing Department. George left the company to enter the Agency business with John Brinley in 1972 in Davis. He served as President of both the Yolo County and Sacramento County Independent Insurance Agency Brokers Associations and on the California Board of Directors of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers Association. George was voted the “Outstanding Insurance Professional’ by his fellow Northern California Insurance Brokers in 1994 and still serves on the prestigious study group, “McAllps Forum of Insurance Issues”. Until the end of his life, George enjoyed playing golf with his sons and beating them like a drum.
George and his sweetheart Marsha were married for over 50 years. Marsha passed away in 2018 and George in 2019, both from pancreatic cancer. You can read their obituaries here and here. We invite you to donate to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research by going here.
Holly Bailey is a commercial lines account manager with 13 years of industry experience. She started out as an office manager, working her way to commercial insurance in Denver, helping various small to medium sized businesses with their insurance needs.
Holly was born and raised in Nebraska and has lived in Denver for the past 11 years. She enjoys traveling with her family. When she is not spending time with her family you can find her with a good book, learning something new, practicing yoga, walking, crafting or baking up something delicious!
Stephanie joined our team as our receptionist in 2001. She quickly moved to the personal lines department where she spent many years as an account manager and Supervisor. In 2011 she transitioned into our Commercial department where she enjoys the challenge of working with the broad variety of industries our clients serve as well as the opportunity to build relationships with her customers. In 2015 Stephanie obtained her CIC designation. Stephanie grew up in beautiful Sonoma County and moved to Davis after graduating high school. She now lives in Sacramento with her two young daughters. Stephanie loves to read any chance she gets, cook, bake, go to concerts and of course, spend time with her family and best friend, Amber. We are lucky to have her!
Amanda was raised and attended school in the Central Valley. She began her insurance career in 2005 and quickly became a personal lines account manager. After living on the Central Coast for almost 5 years, she and her husband decided it was time to move back home to be closer to family as they raise their 2 young daughters. They settled down just north of Fresno, near Millerton Lake, with their first fur child, a Papillion/Bichon mix. Shortly after that they acquired another dog and 2 cats to add to the chaos.
In her free time Amanda enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and reading. Her daughters keep her busy and there are usually several arts and crafts projects going on when they are home.

Ana first joined P&A in 2013 as a personal lines account manager. After taking a break to be a stay-at-home mom, she re-joined P&A in 2018 as a Benefits Eligibility Representative. Outside of the office, she loves to spend time outdoors with her family and enjoys camping, hiking, and reading when she can get a free moment.
Julia Henson was born and raised mostly in California, having also lived in Jalisco, Mexico. Some of her young adulthood was spent enjoying the Big Sky Country of Kalispell, Montana. Her versatile upbringing provides a love of people from all walks of life, and an appreciation of different cultures.
Julia values family and spends much of her time with her kids and pets. She has adopted a Chihuahua puppy from the pound and 3 neighborhood kittens who showed up in her backyard. Her family fun-time includes trips to the beach, play dates at the park, and movie nights with snacks. Her spare time is used pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business with the University of Phoenix.
In 2014, Julia began her Insurance career and has not looked back since. Her passion for learning and helping others makes the Insurance Industry a perfect fit. With her experience in Personal and Commercial lines, as well as client focus, she has much to bring to the table as a Personal Lines Account Manager. Sana grew up in beautiful Southern California. She joined the agency’s personal lines department in 2014, where she enjoys building relationships and servicing the unique needs of her clients. Sana loves to read, cook and on most weekends you will find her climbing mountains.
Jon joined the Purves & Associates Insurance team in 2015. Jon brings a myriad of Insurance experience having been a part of the Independent Insurance Agency business for over thirty years. With the philosophy of always treating his clients as family, he brings a ‘how would my clients want to be treated’ mantra when working with clients. In 2004, he graduated from Sac State with a BA in Communications and is always looking to forward his education.
Outside of the office, Jon is a community volunteer with Kiwanis and has been awarded annually the AARP Services ‘Agent Community Engagement & Service Certificate of Achievement’ award for performing volunteer community service. In his ‘free time’ he is an avid gardener, competition chili cook, DJ and don’t ask him anything about British cars, as he won’t stop talking. Married, with three adult sons and two grandsons, family is in his blood at work and at home. “I’m always here to be of help”
Kathy was born and raised in Sanger, CA graduated from Sanger High School in 1990 and a recent graduate of Fresno Pacific University. She currently lives in Clovis, California with her 3 sons; Zachary, Connor, and Joshua. She began her insurance career in Personal Lines Insurance right after high school working as a file clerk for her Aunt, who owned her own insurance agency. She has continued to work in Personal Lines Insurance ever since, working for a few different agencies after her Aunt retired back in 1995. Kathy enjoys traveling, collecting windchimes, listening to music and obsessed with Dachshunds. She has a miniature dachshund, who is 14 years old named “Weenie.” She started her career at Purves & Associates in March 2021 and is very excited to join the team!!!
Amber started in 2004 as our receptionist and after obtaining her insurance license, moved into our personal lines department where she held many positions from sales to account managing. She recently made the move to our commercial team where she loves connecting with our clients and works hard to provide the best service possible.
Amber grew up in Davis and is one of the several Davis High alums in the office. She lives with her husband Mike (also a DHS alum) in West Sacramento with their two rambunctious sons (and many pets). She has been accused of being a bit Disney-obsessed and takes her family to Disneyland any chance she gets. Outside of Disneyland, she enjoys leading her sons’ Cub Scout dens, reading, crafting, camping and simply spending time with her family. She’s pretty great, we’re lucky to have her.
Edward is a Certified Public Accountant and graduate from Texas A&M University – Commerce. His background includes a wide variety of experience in many different industries, including not for-profit, manufacturing, and import/export. During his career, he has also sat on several boards of directors in various roles. Some of Edward’s interests include motorcycling, craft beer brewing, and home improvement projects. He currently resides in Sacramento, CA. Although he is not as awesome as Scott, he’s still pretty cool.
Amy was born and raised in Davis. After she graduated from Davis High she went to school in Idaho and Utah where she pursued a degree in Sociology/Social work. Before coming to Purves & Associates, besides working in a variety of local clerical positions, Amy managed her own home childcare business for several years. Today, she is happy working at the front desk, and says she finally feels she is “home” – especially in such close proximity to her adoring brothers, Scott & Chris. When she isn’t working, Amy spends her time with her kids, Luke and Grace. She is extremely proud of them both: Luke as a budding photographer, and Grace as a soccer star. She enjoys the beach, reading, and watching trashy reality television (though she won’t admit to the shows’ trashiness). Yes, she’s the cool aunt.
Maria joined the commercial lines team in 2018. She is now working as a Child Care Insurance Specialist. Maria loves helping her clients find the best possible coverage at the right price, and enjoys acting as an advocate for them when negotiating with carriers.
Before working at Purves, Maria attended UC Berkeley and earned her Bachelor’s degree in English. Her desire to live near family guided her to move back to Sacramento after graduation. In her free time, she can be found reading, writing, exploring nature, and spending quality time with her loved ones.
Laura has more than 19 years of experience and in-depth knowledge working with various aspects of employee benefits. Her background includes: service, sales, management, underwriting, operations, claims and marketing. Laura earned her California Insurance License in 2001, holds an AS degree in business and is certified in accounting. Laura has completed numerous continuing education courses relevant to her insurance license and holds ACA, HIPAA and COBRA certifications.
Laura has worked for Purves & Associates since 2001. She is responsible for all aspects of service for our benefits clients, leads projects and coordinates benefits marketing and renewals. Laura is a tenacious advocate for our clients and their employees. Her competency with complex benefit issues has been invaluable to serving our clients. Helping others is the most satisfying part of Laura’s role here, and she greatly values her long-standing client relationships.
When not at work you can find Laura dodging conversations related to the Affordable Care Act. In her personal time, Laura’s daughter keeps her busy with sports and school activities. She also enjoys decorating, traveling, cooking, reading, nature, swimming, and spending time with her husband Michael, family and friends.
Amanda grew up in Sebastopol, California. She received an Associate’s Degree in psychology from Santa Rosa Junior College (2012) and a Bachelor’s Degree in biological psychology from UC Davis (2015). Amanda joined the Personal Lines New Business Team in 2015. In her free time she enjoys making sushi, watercolor painting, and binge watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Atlanta grew up in Davis, graduated from DaVinci Charter Academy, and continues to live in town. She has been with Purves & Associates since 2010 and is a vital member of the Personal Lines New Business Team. When away from the office, she enjoys playing with her dog (Sunny), watching super hero movies, playing word games and spending time with her many siblings. Atlanta is also a foster mom for a local dog rescue, Hearts for Paws, where she helps give pups loving homes until their forever families are found. During her time at Purves & Associates Atlanta has helped build the New Business team, trained new members, created procedures, and been a pleasant, knowledgeable, and tenacious member of our office. Now, Atlanta strives to create a solid relationship with our incoming clients and our referral partners through education, efficiency, and attention to detail.
Kalid, the newest and greatest account manager, joined the Purves & Associates Insurance team in 2019. Kalid loves the small town agency feel of knowing and connecting with all of our clients on a personal level. He believes that it is this connection that fuels his passion for his career and makes the desire to provide the best service possible more authentic.
Kalid was born in Southern Florida, and from there moved all over the country before attending UC Davis. He recently graduated with Highest Honors in Political Science and International Relations, but still seeks every opportunity to gain more knowledge. Some of his favorite pastimes are to read, run, and emulate the awesomeness of Scott, Amber, and almost Chris.
Chris joined the family insurance business in 2003 after graduating from Brigham Young University, and is also a Davis High School alum (1996). He spent his first three years working in the agency’s personal lines department selling and servicing home and auto insurance. In 2007 Chris transitioned to Commercial Insurance, working with new and many long-term customers, as well as developing new markets. In 2008, Chris earned his CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) designation. He and his wife Angie are busy raising five boys in his home town of Davis, CA. He wants to be awesome like Scott.
Scott is a graduate of Davis High School (1990) and the University of Utah, Salt Lake City (1996). Scott has focused on Group Benefits for businesses in the region, including group medical, life & disability, dental, vision and other benefits. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Sacramento Health Underwriters Association, the Davis Downtown Business Association and is a Past President of the Insurance Brokers & Agents of Sacramento. He has also been involved in industry lobbying efforts, traveling to Washington DC many times to meet with Northern California members of Congress. In 2014, Scott was honored as the Insurance Professional of the Year by IBA Sacramento. Scott is the Northern California Authorized Representative for AVMA Life, an insurance Trust for Veterinarians. He lives in Davis, CA with his beautiful wife Joanna and their four busy children. He is awesome.
